Favex heating is going electric

For years, Favex has been helping households stay warm and comfortable with a range of gas heaters. Today, we're expanding our offering with something new: electric heaters.

An electric heater is ideal for providing additional warmth in a bedroom, home office, living room or any room that is only used occasionally. Simply plug it into a power socket for an additional source of heat, with portable appliances and different heating technologies to suit your needs.

For this new range, Favex offers two technologies: ceramic fan heaters, designed to provide warmth quickly, and oil-filled radiators, which deliver a more gradual and even heat.

Which electric heater should you choose?

Your choice will primarily depend on the size of the room, how often you plan to use the heater and the type of warmth you prefer.

• For occasional use and fast, noticeable warmth, a ceramic fan heater is an excellent choice. It blows warm air into the room, helping you feel comfortable in no time.
• For longer periods of heating, an oil-filled electric radiator provides gradual, even warmth. Thanks to its thermal inertia, the radiator continues to release stored heat between heating cycles.

These two technologies are complementary and suited to different needs. Ultimately, the best electric heater is the one that fits your room and the way you use it.

Ceramic fan heater or oil-filled radiator: what's the difference?

• Ceramic fan heaters are all about speed. An electrical heating element heats a ceramic component, while a fan circulates warm air around the room. Their compact design makes them particularly suitable when you want to warm up a specific area or room quickly for a limited period of time.
• Oil-filled radiators, on the other hand, use thermal inertia. An electrically heated thermal fluid gradually transfers heat to the radiator body, which then releases it into the room. They take a little longer to warm up, but provide gentle, consistent heat.

What wattage should you choose for an electric heater?

Power output, measured in watts (W), provides a useful initial indication of a heater's heating capacity. However, it should always be considered alongside the characteristics of the room itself.

In the current Favex range, the 2,200 W RESIA is designed to heat rooms of up to 12 m², while the 2,000 W GARDA oil-filled radiator is recommended for rooms measuring 15 to 20 m².

These room sizes are provided as a guide. Actual heating performance may vary depending on insulation, room volume and temperature conditions.

Do electric heaters use a lot of electricity?

Electricity consumption mainly depends on the heater's power rating and how long it actually runs. At full power, for example, a 2,000 W heater draws 2 kW of power.

To give you greater control over how you use your heater, look for features such as a thermostat, multiple power settings, ECO mode or programmable controls. These functions allow you to adjust operation to your preferred comfort level and avoid heating unnecessarily.

When used as supplementary heating, an electric heater allows you to warm the room you're actually using rather than turning up the heating throughout your entire home.

Practical electric heaters for everyday comfort

The GARDA oil-filled radiator, for example, can be controlled remotely using the Tuya Smart app and programmed for periods ranging from 1 to 24 hours. The RESIA ceramic fan heater features an oscillation function, a 1-to-12-hour timer and a fan-only mode.

Where can you use an electric heater?

Electric heaters are designed for indoor use and can provide additional warmth in a bedroom, home office or living area, for example.

For safe operation, always install and use the appliance in accordance with the instructions provided in its user manual, place it on a suitable surface and observe the manufacturer's recommended safety clearances. Never cover the heater, and always keep air inlets and outlets unobstructed.

The Favex GARDA and RESIA models are also equipped with overheat and tip-over protection for added safety during use.
